What to do:
1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Coat a rimmed baking sheet with cooking spray. 2. In a large bowl, combine flour, cheese, sugar, salt, and cayenne pepper, if desired; mix well. Using a fork or pastry cutter, cut shortening into flour mixture until crumbly. Add buttermilk and stir until a dough forms. 3. Sprinkle flour on a board; knead dough until smooth. Roll out dough with a rolling pin to 1/2-inch thickness and cut into 2-inch heart-shaped biscuits. Place on baking sheet. 4. Bake 10 to 12 minutes, or until light golden. Remove to a wire rack to cool completely.
